I am an experimental physicist studying the strong interaction with jets and energy correlators — from precision QCD in e+e− collisions with archived ALEPH data to the quark–gluon plasma created in heavy-ion collisions at the LHC and RHIC. I also build machine-learning tools for analysis and real-time triggering, and work on the CMS forward detectors (ZDC and FSC). I completed my Ph.D. at Yale University with the ALICE Collaboration, where I led machine-learning-based background subtraction and jet suppression measurements.

Research

Jets & the quark–gluon plasma

Using jets, photon- and Z-tagged probes, and jet substructure in heavy-ion collisions with CMS to understand how the QGP modifies energetic partons — and how the medium responds.

Energy correlators & precision QCD

Measuring energy-energy correlators from the collinear to the back-to-back limit, including with archived ALEPH e+e− data, to connect the dynamics of partons and hadrons.

Machine learning & real-time AI

Developing ML techniques for physics analysis and AI-FPGA-based trigger systems for sPHENIX and future Electron-Ion Collider detectors.
